The Southwest Pass is the main shipping channel at the mouth of the Mississippi River. It empties into the Gulf of Mexico at the southernmost tip of Louisiana. 58% of U.S. soybean exports and 67% of U.S. corn exports originate from the lower Mississippi River and, as a result, utilize the Southwest Pass.
